Emily Schmitz began studying violin at age three and piano at age five. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Eastman School of Music and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Orchestration for Film and TV from Berklee Online.
Emily actively performs as a classical violinist with the Houston Grand Opera orchestra, Houston Ballet orchestra, Alley Theatre, Queensbury Theatre, as well as a multitude of freelance events. In an electric violin setting she performs regularly with Moodafaruka, Joilux Entertainment, Troy Curtis Entertainment, and has toured with the Dallas String Quartet. Emily has also shared the stage with Lindsey Stirling, Evanesence, Wilson Phillips, Sarah Brightman, Michael Bublé, Il Divo, and Mannheim Steamroller, among others.
Emily has been teaching private lessons in violin, viola, and piano for over twenty years. She has a private studio in Sugar Land, TX.
Outside of music, Emily is an actor/model and composes film scores. She is a mother to two teenagers. Emily also likes to run every day and practice yoga.
